Norton House is a small, family-owned care home nestled in the heart of Elland, West Yorkshire. We are proud to offer the highest standard of personalised care within an elegant, warm and relaxed setting.
Our 24 bedrooms provide comfortable spaces for both permanent residents and those joining us for a short respite stay, all supported by a friendly team who know each resident as an individual. Conveniently close to the M62 and local bus routes, Norton House is easy for families to reach, while still tucked far enough away to remain peaceful and quiet for our residents.

Jillie-Jo has managed Norton House since 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience, dedication and strong leadership.
With over 20 years of experience in the social care sector, her background spans hands-on care, leadership and management, giving her the insight to support both people we care for, their friends and families and our staff with empathy and confidence.
She has carefully built a warm and dedicated team who share her values of quality, compassion and consistency.
The Team
Our care team is at the heart of Norton House. Highly trained, well supported, and genuinely valued, they bring both skill and compassion to every part of daily life. Many of our team have been with us for years, creating the continuity and familiar faces that families so often tell us they appreciate.
Our Home Manager, Jillie-Jo, brings a wealth of experience in delivering outstanding care and works closely with the whole team to ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of support, comfort, and kindness.
Services & Amenities
We’ve created a warm, homely environment with thoughtful touches throughout. Residents enjoy plasma smart TVs, soft carpeted flooring that adds to our cosy atmosphere, elegant gold mirrors, and beautifully finished bathrooms with quality tiles, a spacious waterfall shower, and a large relaxing bath. Many bedrooms also feature LED dimmable lighting for added comfort.
Our communal areas include a welcoming bar space, a traditional upright piano, elegant wall art, and modern infrared heating panels that keep the home gently warm. We also welcome regular visits from our hairdresser and chiropodist, available at a supplementary cost. If residents have specific service requests on admission, we’ll always do our very best to accommodate them.
Life at Norton House is active and engaging. We offer a full programme of activities and regular outings into the community, helping residents enjoy meaningful experiences and make the most of God’s own county of Yorkshire and beyond.
Fees
Our fees are competitive within the local market, and we believe families deserve transparency from the very beginning. Norton House is an older building with a lot of character, and therefore our bedrooms vary in size and features. Our pricing reflects these differences.
Placements can be either fully self-funded or supported by local authority funding. We hold contracts with both Calderdale Council and Kirklees Council, and we are also able to welcome out-of-area placements where appropriate.
